Sundays With Tabs the Cat, Makeup and Beauty Blog Mascot, Vol. 788
During the first prototype test of the new office Christmas lights at company HQ this weekend, catastrophe struck! Harris, the former neighborhood cat nemesis of Tabs (and Rosie’s current feline foil), broke into the control room and sabotaged the WiFi router. It caused crazy illuminated mayhem! Rosie was not amused… But she put her displeasure aside and fixed the WiFi in time for tonight’s test. So far, it looks like a success. 🙂 Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, Karen Source_link

2024 Hair Color Trends the Pros Are Loving — See Photos
Getty Images In years past, mushroom brown has been synonymous with…cold. Cold, ashy, gray, and washed-out — which, might we remind you, bears little resemblance to the true bronzy tones of an actual mushroom. “Mushroom hair started out as drastic and bold, but it’s landing in a much more wearable place for 2024,” says Dean. “We’re nearing the end of the super-cold and smoky gray, and we’re seeing it be replaced with a softer and more realistic mushroom brown.” Which, in case you don’t have your carton of porcinis on hand, looks like a neutral taupe with golden tones. “The beauty and popularity of true mushroom brown is that it’s…

NARS Kalahari Love – Makeup and Beauty Blog
Love ya, NARS Kalahari! Hi there! I’m in and out of the home office today because I’ve got various medical appointments. FUN — not really, LOL! I’m happy to report that I just got back from the dentist, though, without any cavities. I also didn’t cry while I was there, which for me is a Christmas miracle. Anywho. Re: this post. I did it a while back, and it features one of my favorite eyeshadows, NARS Kalahari. I love this duo and wear it a ton. If you get the chance to pick it up, grab it! Have a great rest of your Thursday and see ya soon. They say,…

In the tranquil town of Oakville, a new wave of wellness is sweeping through the community, and it comes in the form of Medical Spas. Nestled amidst the serene landscapes and quiet charm, these establishments are redefining the traditional spa experience by seamlessly blending medical expertise with the indulgence of a spa retreat. % Brown Mascaras Tested + Reviewed
If you want major volume… Try Too Faced Too Faced Better Than Sex Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara in Chocolate ($28) The brand’s signature, best-selling Better Than Sex Mascara now comes in a rich, chocolatey brown that is great for softer glam looks. The fluffy, hourglass brush imparts tons of mascara onto each lash, but not in a messy, clumpy way. Expect tons of volume, but in a slightly less dramatic fashion than the black formula. “This is not your grandmother’s espresso mascara,” says Reneau. “It is a warm, chocolatey brown that pops on the lashes and delivers the same dramatic volume, length and curl you can always rely on from…

Your Favorite Auntie’s Beauty Routine
“When I last spoke with Into The Gloss in 2017, I was still at Vogue.com. I left later that year. I’ve often talked about this publicly, so this isn’t taboo, but I was very burnt out. It was very fast, and it was becoming very quota-driven. I didn’t have time to do meditative, long writing. I was probably the smallest I’ve ever been because I wasn’t eating or sleeping, and I was constantly on call. I didn’t really feel encouraged anymore either. As a Black woman, it was obviously very, very difficult, and I had to overcome a lot of things just to get through the day. I was broken…

Julia Roberts Just Got the Same Bangs She Had in 2006
Where were you in 2006? I was in my first year of college, living it up in a big city where I had access to Sephora and Dior mascara anytime I wanted it. Julia Roberts, on the other hand, was making her Broadway debut in the play Three Days of Rain. The movie star had chocolate brown hair and a sweet set of brow-brushing curtain bangs. It turns out that not much has changed in the past 17 years — I’m still zipping to Sephora any chance I get, and Roberts is back to those very same bangs. Roberts, who is currently starring in the Netflix adaptation of Leave the…

Checking In: Chocolate Epiphanies, Too Faced Better Than Chocolate Palette, Second Interviews and Shiseido
I don’t know when it happened, but sometime within the last few months, I switched from being on Team Milk Chocolate to Team Dark Chocolate, which is crazy to me because for years now, I’ve said to anyone and everyone who’ll listen that dark chocolate tastes like punishment, LOL! They say that your sense of taste changes as you get wiser, so this isn’t a big surprise, but still. It’s kinda weird to be at the checkout counter at Trader Joe’s and reach for impulse chocolate and buy dark instead of milk. Side note, who am I kidding? It’s not impulse chocolate when you buy it all the time. LOL!…

Extensive Skin Care Routines May Be Damaging Skin
As a teenager, my skin-care routine was limited to bar soap, the infamous St. Ives Apricot scrub, and the occasional dab of Clearasil when a pimple reared its ugly head. As I got older, I added oil-stripping astringents to rid my skin of every last drop of sebum. But it wasn’t until I was well into my mid-30s that I finally found—and stuck to—a skin-care routine with ingredients that my skin benefits from. Today’s teenagers’ skin-care routines are far more advanced and consist of numerous steps many dermatologists feel are unnecessary and potentially damaging to young skin. We spoke with three dermatologists about the impending rise of teenage skin-care habits, what’s necessary…

Your December 2023 Horoscope Brings Capricorn Season, Mercury Retrograde, and So Many Sequins
The first transit set to make New Year’s Eve worthy of frosty 90s eye makeup or glam and glitter is Venus, ruler of beauty as well as love, entering bold Sagittarius on Friday, December 29. Sagittarius is that sign that’s good at getting what it wants. Perhaps that’s because its ruling planetary body is Jupiter, which is considered the luckiest planet of the zodiac. Jupiter goes direct on Saturday, December 30. So, with the lucky planet now dancing in the right direction and Venus feeling herself with all the unapologetic bravery of a Sagittarius, New Year’s Eve 2023 was made for memories. Go big on your makeup. You’ll want photos…
